Sale Sharks have announced a new four-year deal with former England U-20 hooker Cameron Neild.

Neild, who was named England U-16 player of the year in 2011, joined the Sale Sharks' academy in 2013 and has played 24 Aviva Premiership games for the club in the last two years and was named Sharks' joint young player of the season in 2015.

Director of rugby at Sale Sharks Steve Diamond expressed confidence in Neild's ability and believes the 21-year-old has a strong potential to become one of the mainstay of the club.

"Cameron is a fantastic player, who has come through the academy and shone last season," he told the club's website.

"We're pleased he's chosen to extend his deal at the club, and I have no doubt that he will continue to progress and become one of the building blocks of the team."

Meanwhile, Neild is delighted to extend his stay in the club and is hoping for a successful 2016/17 season.

"I'm really chuffed to be staying at the club," he said. "It's the club I have supported all my life.

"We have a great squad here at the club and I am really looking forward to the new season in both the Premiership and the European Champions Cup."
