Scorecard

Brumbies have progressed to the semi-final in the ongoing Super Rugby season after they went on to defeat Sharks 38-13 in the quarter-final at GIO Stadium on Saturday.

This is also Brumbies' first semi-final appearance since 2015 as they will take on Jaguares at Jose Amalfitani Stdium on 28th June.

Peter Samu made full use of the pass from Rory Arnold as he scored the opening try for Brumbies in the first minute and Christian Leali'ifano followed with the conversion to make it 7-0.

Arnold was also in the thick of things in the second try as a combination of him and Tom Banks sent Henry Speight over the line in the 10th minute as Brumbies doubled their tally during which Sharks managed couple of penalties from Curwin Bosch.

The hosts looked in no trouble with Leali'ifano kicking his maiden penalty goal in the 21st minute and also added a conversion on Samu's second try in the 24th minute as the teams went into the break with a 24-6 scoreline.

Sharks had the better start in the second half and their efforts were rewarded in the 56th minute with a touchdown from Andre Esterhuizen but that remained their only breakthrough after the break.

Brumbies ensured there was no slip up as they slotted two more tries in the final 10 minutes with a touchdown apiece from Joe Powell (72') and Matt Lucas (79') while Leali'ifano also slotted the extras on both the occasions to complete a 38-13 win.
