Brumbies came up with a dominant display as they blanked Sunwolves 33-0 in the Super Rugby encounter at GIO Stadium on Sunday.

The win also means Brumbies now move to the top of the Australian Conference with 29 points while Sunwolves languish at the bottom of the group with 12 points.

Sunwolves thought they had the first points on the board when Gerhard van den Heever crossed over but was disallowed after replays showed he had a foot on touch before going over the line.

However, it was not long before Brumbies got the first points in the game with a try from Henry Speight in the 13th minute. Christian Leali'ifano added the conversion as the home side raced to a 7-0 lead that doubled in the 16th minute with Joe Powell also going over the line.

It wasn't long before Speight got his second in the 27th minute as the Australian side went into the break with a lead of 19-0.

Brumbies extended their lead in the 52nd minute with Thomas Banks dotting down in the 52nd minute while Peter Samu with a 65th minute try ensured they completed a comfortable 33 point victory.
