Scorecard

Blues came up with a six-try performance to hand a 38-14 defeat to Bulls in their Super Rugby clash at QBE Stadium on Saturday.

The first half was equally competed as scrum-half Augustine Pulu crossed over in the second minute while fly-half Piers Francis added the extras. Prop Lizo Gqoboka responded with a try of his own in the 16th minute and the scores were levelled after the conversion from Handre Pollard.

Blues showed more intent in the second half after wing Matt Duffie added two tries in the third quarter to take the home side to a 12 point lead. They were put under a spot of bother when flanker Jimmy Tupou was sin-binned in the 58th minute.

However, replacements Ihaia West and Matt Moulds along with winger Melani Nanai Vai added three tries in the final 15 minutes to take Blues to 38 points.

Even though, Rudy Paige scored a consolation try for Bulls in the final minute, they succumbed to a 24 point defeat. Blues are placed fourth in the New Zealand conference group while Bulls are positioned third in Africa 1 conference.
