Blues 24-9 Stormers, Eden Park
Scorecard

Blues managed to overcome a red card to Tanielu Tele'a as they went on to register a 24-9 victory over Stormers in their Super Rugby clash at Eden Park on Saturday.

This is Blues' third consecutive win this season as they are positioned third in the New Zealand Conference while Stormers are at the third place in South African Conference.

Stormers started the game with a bit of setback when Daniel du Plessis was replaced in the 10th minute but back to back penalty kicks from Jean-Luc du Plessis meant they had a lead of 0-6 in the opening 30 minutes of the game.

As the half-time was approaching, Blues set the stride with a 32nd minute try from Tanielu Tele'a while Otere Black kicked a conversion and a penalty with the first half ending with a 10-6 lead for the hosts.

Jean-Luc du Plessis with an early three-pointer in the second half, narrowed down the gap between the two sides to one point but a converted try from Black stretched Blues' lead to eight points by the start of the final quarter.

Blues had a huge setback as they played the final 10 minutes with a man down as Tele'a was red-carded but despite that they slotted their third try in the 75th minute through Rieko Ioane completing a 24-9 win.
