Leicester Tigers have confirmed that England international Ben Youngs has penned a new two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

Youngs, a product of the Leicester Academy made his debut with the Tigers in 2006 and has racked up over 200 appearances for the Welford Road unit and it is reported that the 28-year-old has turned down an offer from Bristol.

He has featured in 75 Test appearances with two out of it coming during the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia in 2013.

“Ben is a world-class player and a central part of the squad here and an important player for us going forward,” head coach Matt O’Connor said.

“He has packed a lot of experience at the highest level into his career already and he is still a young man with a lot of rugby left in him.”

Meanwhile, Argentina prop Facundo Gigena, who was recently signed by the club has joined the squad ahead of their European Champions Cup clash against Montpellier on Saturday.
