England coach Eddie Jones has recruited Australian rugby league legend Andrew Johns as a consultant to help his men push for a Test whitewash against the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday.

If Jones' men manage to outsmart Michael Cheika and his side at Allianz Stadium this weekend, they would make history by becoming the first touring side in 45 years to to win a series 3-0 against Australia.

Johns, who has worked as an expert with various NRL clubs, was in frequent contact with Jones before the start of the ongoing down-under tour.

Johns met England's playmakers George Ford and Owen Farrell at a training session in Coogee on Monday, to lend his expertise five days ahead of the third and final Test.

"I've always admired his skills as a player and he's got a lot of knowledge and a lot he can teach people," Jones said. "We'd been chatting for a while about the possibility of him coming to do a bit of work. [Monday] was the ideal day when we had quite a bit of downtime in training.

“It’s just slight detail, the things that he’s saying are said in a different voice, in a different way that stimulates learning.

“We’ve got two outstanding No. 10s in Owen Farrell and George Ford, and we want them to keep learning."

England has been unbeaten since Jones took over the reigns from Stuart Lancaster following the dismal performance in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Under new captain Dylan Hartley and Jones, England achieved Grand Slam success at Six Nations 2016 and also registered their maiden Test series victory down under. However, Jones still believes the squad has plenty of room for improvement and the best is yet to come.

“We still haven’t seen the best of this [England] team, we’re on a learning curve and we want to keep improving,” Jones said.

“We want to be the best team in the world, to win this series 3-0 would indicate we’ve got the right to be the second-best team in the world, and then we take it from there.”
