Bath have announced that Wales international Aled Brew has signed a one-year contract extension with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 30-year-old joined The Recreation Ground outfit in 2016 from Newport Gwent Dragons and has featured in seven Aviva Premiership games since then.

In his club career, which started in 2004, Brew has also represented Ospreys and Cardiff Blues, French side Biarritz Olympique apart from Dragons before he joined Bath on a short-term deal in September.

Brew said he is excited to be representing Bath and is hoping to carry forward the momentum in the coming matches.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Bath over the last few months and have settled in really well, so I'm really happy to be staying for at least another season and a half," said Brew.

"I've really enjoyed getting a good run of games under my belt, it's a great squad to be part of and we're looking forward to pushing on over the coming months."

The 6 ft wing made his Wales debut in 2007 and has played in nine Tests with his last appearance coming in June 2012 against Barbarians at Millennium Stadium.

Bath rugby director Todd Blackadder is confident of Brew playing a vital cog in the club's set up.

"We are delighted to have extended Aled's contract with the club," said Blackadder.

"He has brought so much to the team on and off the field since his arrival and will continue to form an integral part of the squad over the next couple of seasons."
