Worcester Warriors have confirmed that former Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has been added to the backroom staff of the Aviva Premiership club on a short term contract.

Solomons, who has worked as an assistant coach with South Africa and Barbarians has a 20-year experience in coaching that includes teams like Stormers, Ulster, Northampton Saints, Kings and most recently Edinburgh.

The news was confirmed by Worcester Warriors rugby director Gary Gold in a statement released by the board.

"We are delighted to welcome Alan to the club," said Gold, who is set to exit the club at the end of the ongoing season.

"He possesses huge experience after two decades at the top of the game."

"He will become an important member of the backroom set-up and the knowledge he will pass on to players will be invaluable as we look to get positive results on the pitch."

Worcester have also signed USA flanker Andrew Durutalo, who has 19 caps, from Ealing Trailfinders.

The Warriors started their European Rugby Challenge Cup campaign with a 30-20 win over Brive and will line up against Connacht next at The Sportsground on 21st October.
