Exeter Chiefs 31-24 Ulster, Sandy Park
Scorecard

Michele Campagnaro and Thomas Waldrom scored double tries each as Exeter Chiefs keep their hope of making to the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup alive with a 31-24 bonus point victory over Ulster at Sandy Park on Sunday.

Even though number eight Sean Reidy got Ulster off the mark with a second minute try, Campagnaro and Waldrom crossed over in the 20th and 29th minute respectively as Exeter Chiefs took a seven-point lead after the conversion from fly-half Gareth Steenson.

Ulster bounced back with wing Charles Piutau strolling past the post in the 33rd minute while Ireland international Paddy Jackson's conversion meant the scores were levelled 12-12 at half-time.

Rob Baxter's men started the second half in a dominating fashion after Campagnaro and Waldrom went past the line for the second time in the game while Steenson added his second conversion.

Even though, Piutau raised Ulster's hopes with his second try which came in the 59th minute, the visitors' hopes were blown away when Jackson was sin-binned in the 70th minute for a deliberate knock-on which also resulted in a penalty try for Exeter Chiefs, thereby awarding the bonus point as well.

The win has taken Exeter Chiefs to second position in the Pool 5 with 11 points and are closely followed by Bordeaux with 10 points. Table toppers Clermont have already made it to the quarter-finals.
